MRSS — Modular Rigid Splint System
Prototype concept for a modular, interlocking splint system designed for rapid immobilisation and field adaptability. This project is not currently live for production or procurement.
Project status
MRSS is presently in a concept and design‑exploration phase. It is not a certified medical device, not available for sale, and not approved for clinical use. The information on this page is provided for design discussion only.
If you are interested in collaborating on our modular immobilisation systems, or wish to explore similar design work, please contact us via the services or contact pages rather than treating MRSS as a live product.
Concept overview
The MRSS concept explores how modular, interlocking panels could be used to immobilise suspected fractures in pre‑hospital and tactical environments. Panels would connect along the sides and at the ends, allowing partial limb support up to full‑limb immobilisation, with a focus on rapid application and intuitive geometry.
- Modularity: interchangeable panels for different limb sizes and anatomies.
- Rapid application: simple interlock geometry to reduce application time under stress.
- Lightweight & durable: engineered for field use with reinforced load paths.
- 3D printable: designed for additive manufacturing with minimal post‑processing.

Any models or renders associated with MRSS are conceptual only and should not be treated as production‑ready files. The viewer below is intentionally disabled while the project is not live.

Technical considerations
Materials
Concept assumes engineering polymers (e.g. PETG, Nylon) or medical‑grade resins, subject to regulatory and sterilisation requirements. Final material selection would depend on formal testing.
Interlock system
Side‑locking and end‑locking connectors are explored for secure engagement without tools, with attention to ease of release and reconfiguration.
Use context
Intended context is pre‑hospital and tactical environments, as a temporary aid only. Any real‑world deployment would require clinical oversight and regulatory approval.
Collaboration & enquiries
If you are a clinician, researcher, procurement lead or training provider interested in modular immobilisation concepts, we can discuss bespoke design work or related projects without presenting MRSS as a finished product.
Use the contact page to outline your requirements, or reference “MRSS concept” in your message if you wish to discuss this specific design direction.
Disclaimer
MRSS is a design concept and prototype exploration only. It is not a certified medical device, not approved for clinical use, and not available for purchase. Do not use any MRSS‑related materials as a substitute for approved medical equipment or clinical judgement.
